100 Word Challenge Week 12

Reluctantly, I stared in disbelief. The old painting on the building was half peeled. How was I supposed to clean this hideous house that seemed like an abandoned ghost home. I wandered up the crackled walkway that led itself to the main entrance, I spotted something very odd. A flash of a shadow passed by a nearby window. The handle just wouldn’t budge. I pulled myself together and kicked down the door. It flung open with a great bang, and then I saw it … It stood very still in front of me as if it had known me. TO BE CONTINUED ...

During the Lockdown I wrote a letter to New Zealand's Prime Minister

Dear Honorable Prime Minister,

My name is Ayin Esela, I am a year 8 student at Oamaru Intermediate School. I am writing this letter to thank you for your sensible and thoughtful approach to the world wide pandemic, Covid 19 in New Zealand. You have taken this occurrence with maturity and I just want to thank you for your decision making that will help New Zealand in the nearer future.

I also want to thank you for encouraging words you have said so that New Zealanders will not be under pressure. While this pandemic is spreading it is essential to keep on top of our hygiene. Some ways include washing hands thoroughly, having showers daily, washing clothes and wiping down surfaces. We must also keep away from others if we are not feeling well. We must cough and sneeze into a tissue or into your elbow. 

This pandemic becomes a crisis for some people through finance. Most people will lose their daily jobs and some left to live on their savings. But I thank you and the government for helping those who are struggling at the moment. Some of which may be people who lost their jobs due to this pandemic and others may be people who had to shut down their businesses. New Zealand is appreciative of your decision.

I also want to thank you for emphasizing about different ways to help each other out so that we can stick together during these discouraging times. We should not panic buy because if some buy a lot some people will be left out. You also advised us to be kind to each other and look out for one another especially the vulnerable. We could check up on the elder people and make sure they are doing alright.

I am truly a proud citizen of New Zealand, knowing that the Government of today is doing an exceptional job looking after our precious Aotearoa in their decision making. I take pleasure and gratitude to have a Prime Minister and Government that I know is doing the best for New Zealand. Thank you so very much.

‘Winter’

[Colour] Winter is a sheet a white blankets,

[Sight] Towering trees are now scary long skeletons,

[Feel]  Irritating frostbites between my fingers,

[Smell] The fresh scent of wet and damp grass rushes by with the wind,

[Hearing]  The sparks of the fire sound ferocious, 

[Taste]  Hot choccy runs over my tongue, and down my throat,

[Emotion] All is fresh, cold, and precious in the world.
